Meet the Team - Cassandra Clark

Cassandra Clark, Operations Manager

Quickfire Q&A with…Cassandra Clark, Operations Manager – Hobart UK Equipment Division

Clocking up an impressive 11 years at Hobart, where she has worked her way up the chain, Cassandra has recently been promoted to Operations Manager for the Hobart UK Equipment Division. Outside of her role, she has a soft spot for nature and spending quality time with friends and family.

To celebrate her recent promotion, we sat down with Cassandra to talk life at Hobart, her newfound love of bird watching, and treasured Christmas memories.

In one sentence, how would you summarise your role at Hobart?

It’s a challenging position, but it’s rewarding and a role that is always evolving – which is perfect for me!

How long have you been in your role?

I’ve been at Hobart just over 11 years, and as for this role, I’ve just recently got the promotion to Operations Manager. I’ve slowly worked myself up, starting out as a project coordinator, then supervisor and office manager – all within the equipment division.

Why do you love being a part of the Hobart team?

It’s like being part of a family. I always say that to anyone who joins, no matter how challenging a day becomes, everyone will pull together to get it through. You’ve always got people to turn to and it’s such a great company to work for.

What’s your favourite Hobart product and why?

There are so many great products – the leasing, the equipment, but the ones that really stand out for me are the large warewash machines. It comes from my first role in projects, there is so much planning that goes in to make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s not just sending a product out, but coordinating with the transport company, the Hobart installation department, the factory – you play a pivotal role in all of that. The machines themselves, they can be small and compact, or to the length of a room – those are the machines that I like.

Tell us something about you that not many people know?

I’ve recently moved out of the city to live in the countryside, so I’ve started to learn to love nature. This is something not a lot of people know but, I’ve really gotten into bird watching, so I’ve got binoculars in certain rooms in the house and will spend an hour or so just looking at birds. We have things like kites, kestrels and buzzards and I’ve started to learn their markings to know whether it’s a male or female.

What’s the best meal of your life, and why?

The Christmas just gone – it was the first Christmas that I cooked for both sides of the family, and the first time we’ve eaten together as a proper family occasion. What made it so special for me is that my gran who is 89 was there, and it was the first time I cooked for her. The food turned out great, but I think the whole experience of spending time with family – it’s probably the best Christmas I’ve ever had!
