High Volume Washing and Drying Solutions For Reusables

When there’s absolutely no compromise on capacity, speed, efficiency and easy drying of reusables, Hobart’s ground-breaking Rack and Flight-type machines provide the perfect solution.

The DYNAMIC-DRY active drying function on Hobart’s PREMAX rack machines employs sophisticated state-of-the-art fan technology in the shape of a special inflow nozzle that increases drying efficiency by 50%. The innovative machine is able to clean up to 60 racks or 1,500 cups per hour.

Hobart’s flight type dishwashers provide essential behind-the-scenes support at large events such as concerts and festivals. The machines can wash up to 10,000 cups per hour, while a specially developed cup conveyor belt enables lightweight, reusable cups to be cleaned on the belt without a rack.

When it comes to drying, a powerful and highly efficient blowing zone removes excess water via air blades on all four sides, thus reducing residual moisture. High air circulation during the drying process removes residual water and the drying air absorbs moisture. A heat recovery system reduces supply water energy consumption.

A Portrait: Reusable solutions for Stadium Environments

Rani is a general manager at a medium-sized stadium facility, hosting 40 events annually, including football matches and live concerts. The facility currently spends some £64,000 per year on single-use plastic cups. After a visit to an AGM for delegates working in similar largescale catering fields, Rani was inspired by a talk detailing a sustainable model for reusable cups within stadiums. The talk explained how sites could avert tonnes of unnecessary plastic waste going to landfill and save money by switching to reusable plastics.

Despite the convincing nature of the presentation, Rani still held concerns about hygiene standards and also staffing costs in terms of processing and drying the reusable cups.

He found that his fears were allayed when he spoke to a Hobart representative, who, in partnership with a local equipment dealer, helped him specify a Hobart Rack machine with a state-of-the-art DYNAMIC-DRY active drying function. Rani was able to purchase the machine using 24-month interest-free finance with nothing to pay upfront, helping the business retain vital cash flow. The innovative machine can hygienically clean and dry up to 60 racks or 1,500 cups per hour – presenting the ideal solution for the requirements of the site.

In making the switch to reusable plastic cups, Rani has worked with Hobart to forecast a three-year saving of £71,000. This is achieved by placing a refundable deposit of £1 on each cup, a cost-effective solution which covers the price of any replacements. Moreover, across a three-year period the move will have prevented 1,200,000 single use cups from going to landfill.
