Undercounter Washing Solution for Reusable Plastics

Hobart’s PREMAX FP and GP machines offer the best possible drying results.

  • Built-in TOP-DRY drying is unique to the market and saves operators the inconvenience of manual drying.
  • A simple, specially developed rack system ensures that light wash ware won’t topple over and stays in position during the cycle for perfect wash results.
  • Hobart’s unique HYLINE Rinse Aid provides superior drying performance for plastic cups, cutlery, and dishes. Ordinarily, plastics would come out of the machine moist and dripping with water. Not only does the Rinse Aid negate this, it does so completely hygienically – offering customers peace of mind – while saving on costly and laborious drying and stacking time.

A Portrait: Reusable solutions for Office Environments

Kala is an office manager for a recruitment firm of 200 employees, open Monday - Friday. Currently the firm spends £32 per day, or £8,352 per year, on single-use plastic cups for staff and visitors.

Having heard about the forthcoming legislation change around the supply of single-use plastics, Kala sought out and spoke to a Hobart representative to see what could be done.

Hobart advised her on a course of action, employing a dishwashing solution, purpose built for the job of washing and hygienic drying of reusable plastic cups, that could actively save her firm money in the long term.

In partnership with a local equipment distributor, the manufacturer oversaw the successful installation of a brand-new Hobart FPS undercounter dishwasher with in-built TOP DRY functionality. This was purchased using Hobart’s 24-month interest-free finance, with nothing to pay upfront, helping the firm manage repayments while retaining vital cash flow.  Alongside this, Kala spent £1,000 on quality reusable cups for her workforce (enough for three per person).

The switch has been extremely well received by the workforce, who share the responsibility of loading and unloading the machine, and love having their own personal, reusable cups.

Kala has worked with Hobart to forecast that after three years with the new reusable washing and drying setup, her firm will be saving a staggering £12,856.20 in comparison with the cost of single-use plastics*. Moreover, the move will save some 156,000 single-use cups from going to landfill. A fact that the firm can proudly use in its annual ESG policy guide.
