Sustainable Energy Certificate

Hobart is the clear leader in the warewashing equipment manufacturing industry as well as having the most energy efficient warewashing equipment in the world. Hobart takes “green” very seriously and so now the Hobart warewashing manufacturing plant in Elgesweier, Germany has switched to entirely renewable, CO2 free energy sources earning them a sustainable energy certificate.
Hobart’s CEO Axel Black says “Our employees know that they're working for a company that has put its name behind environment and climate protection from start to finish. The same applies to our customers, who will be able to buy our products with a clean conscience for two major reasons - HOBART warewashing equipment is not only environmentally friendly in operation, it's also made using completely green energy.” He sees the change sending a positive message in many different directions as well as being an innovative and particularly far-reaching decision.
For many years Hobart’s plant in Elgesweier has had an excellent track record for being environmentally friendly with its energy in its warewashing equipment manufacturing process. Even though the company’s annual manufacturing volume has tripled since 2006 its electricity consumption has remained constant.
With the help of Hobart’s new energy supplier, Darmstadt-based Entega, they have managed to reach another major milestone in its CO2NSEQUENT climate-protection programme. This programme was launched in 2008 which aims towards the highest possible environmental standards with numerous climate protection activities affecting purchasing, production and the products themselves.
