Leading German Chef Association Awards Hobart with Gold Medal

Leading German chef association, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, has awarded Hobart the gold standard in warewashing for its groundbreaking FTPi and FTNi fight type machines.

Readers of German magazine KÜCHE – the official trade title for the Verband der Köche Deutschlands, were given the chance to choose the year’s most innovative product launches in 22 food and technical categories.  The FTPi and FTNi were awarded gold in the category of warewashing with readers praising the machines’ levels of technical innovation and marked energy and cost savings.

With clean cut styling on the outside and a host of unique innovations within, the FTPi and FTNi are the most economical warewashers of their type ever made. First introduced in 2016, the machines include world-first patented twinLINE technology which makes it possible to wash trays on a separate conveyor while the other items are being washed in the machine making for vastly superior operational efficiency. For ease of use, trays are then automatically stacked in the exit section of the machine. Crucially, the system increases capacity without increasing footprint and makes washing up to 30% faster.
Yet more savings come in the shape of the machines’ patented 50PERCENT fresh-water rinse which reduces water consumption by up to 65%, while the company’s PERMANENT CLEAN automatic soil removal system saves up to 20% detergent and eliminates disruption of the wash process caused by the need to remove and clean filters and baskets.

The machines also use their own energy to ensure a stable temperature balance – a precondition for achieving consistent and hygienic results. An in-built and patented CLIMATE PRO System recycles 100% of the thermal energy produced, also significantly reducing energy consumption.

This year, Hobart’s flight type machines also scooped a coveted German Star Award for innovation. The second time in a row that the manufacturer has won in that category.

Tim Bender, UK Sales Director – Warewashing at Hobart UK, says: “We couldn’t be prouder that such a respected organisation, one who’s membership know and understand the challenges of kitchen life more acutely than most, has seen fit to give us this award.  The machines were built and their innovative features designed to take the strain on busy professional kitchens – serving the members of the Verband der Köche Deutschlands – so there’s a great synergy. The accolade is testament to ceaseless R&D from our dedicated teams in Offenburg, Germany, who produce the goods time and time again to always keep Hobart one step ahead.”
