Hobart and QCM Give A Helping Hand to Two of the South West's Best

When two of the south west’s most famous culinary destinations were in need of new warewashing equipment, they came calling on Bristol commercial kitchen dealer, QCM who wasted no time in specifying Hobart machines as the ideal fit.

Michelin-starred Lucknam Park, near Bath, contacted the highly respected dealership in need of a new machine, with its current hood type warewasher – that of a Hobart competitor – deemed completely beyond repair. Aware of the need for a quality replacement, QCM quoted on and installed a Hobart AMXS hood type within just three days of taking the call. Lucknam head chef Hywel Jones says he was massively impressed with the speed in which QCM were able to turn the order around, remarking: “We’re extremely happy with the new Hobart and can’t believe how clean everything is coming out in comparison to before.”

Keeping standards high is also a mantra for Bristol’s Casamia, so when the renowned family-run one Michelin star restaurant was looking to source a high spec glasswasher, they immediately contacted QCM.

QCM general manager, Gerry Oakley picks up the story: “Casamia were after a glasswasher with reverse osmosis to ensure crystal clear results. They had recently invested in beautiful new stemware and needed a machine that would be able to offer the very best finish.

Following a consultation with both the head chef and bar manager, we suggested Hobart’s GXCROI – an ideal option as it has a large capacity basket and tall wash chamber, perfectly suited to stemmed glassware. I followed up with them post install and they’re absolutely delighted with the performance.”

Crucially, Gerry was able to use Hobart’s 12-month interest-free deal which allowed Casamia to proceed with the sale immediately, reducing pressure on their capital budget and meaning they could install a top of the range machine to ensure optimum wash quality. Hobart assumes the complete cost of the finance immediately, leaving dealers like Gerry free to upsell and reap the rewards. He adds: “Both sales were based on the customer wanting a premium machine, and were built on good communication between Hobart, QCM and the end user which allowed us to work towards such quick turnaround times.
